I love this song, it’s so poignant and says so much. What makes anyone think that they might have it so much worse than anyone else? “Walk a mile in my shoes” and the whole perspective changes. It’s hard to try and look at the world through someone else’s eyes, and you will never completely get it anyway, as that is not your all-the-time reality. If there are hungry children, it doesn’t matter where they are, the pain in their bellies is the same, regardless of geography! Or illness! Sick is sick is sick! I heard this song on his new cd, and it just smacks you in the face with reality:

Ain’t it the truth? I cried when I heard this song, but gently. Have you ever cried gently, just for the beauty of something even when it hurt? Kinda strange, huh? This song goes on and addresses the prayer I put in my blog posting: Shouldn't I be above this?.
While we are all walking our own paths, and are carrying our own crosses, that expression all roads lead to Rome? If we are on the Christian path, those paths and those crosses get us to Calvary!

Alzheimer’s, to me, is a demon! Satan loves this hateful disease that can take devout little old women and make them cuss and swear, or take a loving poppa (like my dad) and make him look you in the eye and have no clue who you are. I’ve been through that! And IT HURTS!!! So, this song, this song sucker punched me!
My cousin posted this to her friends and family and I would advise EVERYONE to do it:
